A fractured tooth is a common dental emergency. Some patients may experience sensitivity to extreme temperatures whereas others may only complain of a jagged tooth edge. Treatment options depend on the type of fracture, amount of remaining tooth structure, and the presence or absence of decay. A simple filling may be all that is needed, but a larger restoration such as a "cap" or crown may be necessary to restore the tooth to it's proper form and function. In most cases, we can mill a permanent crown in our office on the same day with our Cerec Machine. In more severe cases, the tooth may not be savable in which case tooth replacement options will be reviewed. Whatever the case may be, we will be happy to address your needs.
